A family well recommended to us is seeking a native English or fluent in English and or Spanish and French (a bonus but not essential) nanny to join their family for the care of their three children. They have a boy aged 6.5 years, a girl aged 4.5 years and a boy aged 2.
The family is moving to the U.K from Oman. The two eldest children will attend a school, which will hopefully be within walking distance from their home and the youngest will attend a nursery for three mornings per week to begin with and then up to 4-5 days per week once he has adapted and settled.
The working hours are from Monday to Friday around 10-12 hours daily and the salary on offer is £10-12 net per hour. Occasional baby sitting may be required as well as travel abroad with the family to the Swiss Alps for skiing and to various destinations over the summer months. If the nanny can ski it would be beneficial, but not essential.
The main duties shall be getting the children ready for school including drop offs and pick ups; taking care of their youngest whilst the other children are at school on the days he won’t be attending nursery; age appropriate fun and creative activities at home, arts and crafts, play doh; walking to parks, visiting museums, arranging play dates, etc. You will also be expected to cook light and simple meals for the children as well as overseeing dinner time and promoting good table manners. Other duties will be managing sibling rivalry, assisting with bath time, reading stories, bed time and ensuring school bags are ready for the following day.
The mother is fully hands on and is happy to work alongside the nanny or to take a step back, whichever works best, when a routine is established. She is flexible with the hours decreasing over time if the nanny wishes and also for later starts and earlier finishes on some days.
Their eldest boy has a severe allergy to nuts and sesame and he carries an Epi pen. Therefore, someone confident, organized and mindful is essential. They have a no nut and sesame policy in their home and are very cautious when they eat out. The nanny will be expected to follow the same principles.
The start date is mid-late August. The family will have just moved so they are aware it may be a little unsettling to begin with. They are ready to start interviewing ASAP via video.
