A family of 4 residing in East Finchley is seeking a kind, flexible and active nanny for the care of their two sons aged 2 years and 7 months. Their two-year-old is an energetic boy that loves running around and being active but at the same time has good focus and equally enjoys reading, counting, musical activities, etc. His baby brother is in a good routine and both children sleep through the night.
The duties will be the development of the English language, planning activities for the boys, taking care of their daily needs, play dates, etc. The parents are very well organised and they would like someone who is proactive and can think ahead. For example, keeping children’s wardrobe updated, checking next size clothes, putting away outgrown clothes, looking ahead for kids supplies, laying out clothes for the following day, assuring toys are packed into bags for journeys, etc. Candidates with several years of nanny experience are preferred, however it is not the main factor as long as the potential candidate is organised, open to learning and observing the daily routine with the mother and grasping their circumstances quickly.
They are looking for a team player that wants to be a part of the family and would feel like they want to help as opposed to being obliged, therefore the nanny will be expected to keep the house clean and organised, as you would when co-habiting with someone else. The housekeeping duties will be taking the rubbish, laundry, dishwasher loading and unloading, clearing up after spillages, etc. You won’t be required to do general cleaning in the house, as the family employs a housekeeper. They also require someone that can prepare simple meals, follow recipes and is willing to assist the parents in making meals for the whole family. The mother is a great cook and is happy to share her cooking skills with the successful candidate.
Both parents are dedicated parents that have busy lives due to their jobs. And they are seeking someone who is happy to proxy parent at times when they travel overseas for work or when they might have to work late.
The usual schedule will be Monday to Friday from when the children wake until bedtime whilst also keeping an ear out when the children sleep if the parents arrive home late. There might be rare weekends that are particularly busy when the nanny will be expected to assist the family for a few hours here and there. At the same time, they allow flexibility for their nanny, if she wants a weekend away or to leave earlier on a Friday. They will also try their best to allow the nanny to have one weekday evening free to do her own activity or relax. This family is fair and kind, and they hope to be able to have a give and take approach where both parties feel appreciated.
This is a live-in position with the accommodation provided within the family’s home. You will have your own bed room on a separate floor with an en-suit bathroom The family will respect your privacy and the fact that you may enjoy activities outside of the home.
The salary is negotiable for the right candidate and can be discussed openly with the family upon interview. The family is ready to interview/trial immediately.
