Job Description
A family based in Limassol, Cyprus, is seeking a qualified, educated, and English-speaking live-out governess to support the care, education, and overall development of their 7-year-old daughter.
The child attends school during the week, and during term time the working schedule will be Monday to Friday from 2:00 pm to 9:00 pm, plus Saturday from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm, with some flexibility required to accommodate the family’s schedule. The role will focus on homework support, educational activities, structured play, and assisting with the child’s daily routine and organisation. During school holidays, flexibility will be required in line with the family’s needs.
The role may occasionally involve proxy-parenting and overnight stays when both parents are travelling. The family travels internationally several times per year, and the governess should be happy to accompany them during winter and summer travel periods and assist with packing and organising for the child.
This is a fully staffed household; therefore, the ideal candidate should be a positive team player who can work harmoniously within a private household environment. English is spoken at home, and the focus of the role will be to support the child’s educational development, confidence, and daily routine in a structured and nurturing environment.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience working with school-aged children and supporting their academic development. A teaching background or relevant childcare qualifications would be highly advantageous. The family is seeking someone creative, proactive, organised, and engaging, who can provide a balance of educational support, structured play, and age-appropriate activities both indoors and outdoors. The role will also involve helping the child with daily organisation, including preparing snacks and meals for the child, maintaining tidiness in the child’s areas, assisting with clothing changes, and encouraging good routines and independence.
The family will arrange relocation support for the successful candidate moving from the UK. This is a long-term live-out position based in Cyprus, offering a stable role within a supportive and respectful family environment.
The role is available to start ASAP. Interviews will initially be conducted with the family’s representative, followed by interviews with the parents. Successful candidates may then be invited to attend a paid trial.
Package:
• Salary: From 5000 Euros net per month, depending on experience and qualifications
