Nanny with wanderlust? Overseas nanny jobs may be the solution!
Does the idea of spending your working days with children appeal to you? Have you ever wondered what a great career path being a nanny or governess is? Caring for a child, teaching them and assisting in their overall development? Of course for some, the thought of being around adorable little ones all day is ghastly, but for us nannies, governesses and tutors around the world it’s a fantastic way to spend our working lives. Secretly smiling to ourselves whilst we’re out at the park feeding the ducks, or at the zoo for the day, knowing others are sat at an office clock watching and waiting for ‘fun o’clock’ – our jobs are really fun and allow us to express ourselves and watch the growth in the wards we take care of simultaneously
Overseas nanny jobs rock!
Some people have asked me “How do you hang around with kids all day?” – as if to say their young wonderful brains aren’t capable of conjuring up interesting topics or ideas. I have learnt so much from the kids I have cared for along with educating myself to a higher level in order to know how to answer some of their fascinating questions! We’re still adults, we just tend to have an active and fun job that brings along many perks with it…especially if you are the kind of person looking to secure a role overseas. As a native English/other speaker you are sought after in many countries to no only care for a family’s children but also teach and encourage them to speak another language.
Assuming you have the right experience, qualifications and a certain element of bravery and wanderlust (a strong, innate desire to rove or travel about.) there’s no reason not to consider fleeing the nest for a while and gaining a whole new life experience in another country. Finding the right family and country for you is ultimately very important and isn’t a decision that shouldn’t be taken lightly, after all it’s a big change and a great opportunity to add overseas experience to your CV, earn a great salary, learn a new culture and perhaps even a new language yourself. Many overseas jobs include travel to some top destinations, all your friends will be jealous of your beach selfies whilst they’re moping around the office.
Besides all that – expat communities are awesome, you’re surrounded by like minded people, who for one reason or another have ended up in the same place at the same time as you.
