A warm, respectful returning client based in Sofia, Bulgaria is seeking an experienced live-in nanny to join their family from the end of September 2026. Great British Nannies previously placed the family’s maternity nanny, who has thoroughly enjoyed the role and will provide a comprehensive handover to ensure a smooth transition.
This is an excellent long-term opportunity for a career nanny looking to grow with a family as their daughter develops. The role is focused entirely on the child’s care, wellbeing and development, with an emphasis on creating a nurturing English-speaking environment through age-appropriate play and learning.
The schedule below reflects the baby’s current routine and is intended as a guide. As she grows, her routine will naturally evolve.
3:00 PM – Begin shift, take over after the baby’s nap, prepare for the afternoon and enjoy playtime together.
4:00 PM – 7:45 PM – Long outdoor walk, including a bottle feed of expressed breast milk at approximately 5:00 PM. The baby may have a short nap during the walk.
7:45 PM – 8:30 PM – Nappy change, bedtime routine, evening feed (by the nanny or mother if home), and settle for the night.
8:30 PM – 3:00 AM – The baby usually sleeps through the night. During this time the nanny may have dinner and rest, responding only if the baby briefly wakes for reassurance.
Around 3:00 AM – The baby normally wakes for one feed. The nanny will either bring the baby to Mum for breastfeeding or offer expressed breast milk by bottle, as agreed.
3:15 AM – 6:00/7:00 AM – Baby returns to sleep.
6:00/7:00 AM – 9:00/9:30 AM – Morning feed, playtime and interaction before handing over to Mum.
9:00 AM – 3:00 PM – Free time. The nanny has a private apartment within the family’s building and is free to rest, exercise or spend the time as they wish while Mum or another nanny cares for the baby.
The family is seeking a calm, experienced and professional nanny with excellent infant experience. A childcare qualification and knowledge of Montessori, Reggio Emilia, Gentle Parenting, EYFS or similar child-led approaches would be highly advantageous, as would previous experience working with international or bilingual families.
The family travel frequently, sometimes at short notice, therefore the successful candidate must enjoy travelling and be flexible with changing plans. This is a fully staffed, semi-formal household, so applicants should be confident working alongside other household staff while maintaining professionalism and respecting the family’s boundaries.
Interviews are taking place immediately to allow sufficient time for visa applications where required. EU candidates are preferred, although visa sponsorship is available for exceptional candidates from the UK.

Requirements
• Fluent English speaker
• Minimum 3 years’ professional experience caring for children aged 0–3 years
• Childcare qualification or degree preferred
• Excellent recent references from private families (contactable by telephone)
• Valid passport and clean police/DBS check
• Willingness to relocate to Bulgaria
• Flexible and happy to travel internationally, including at short notice
