Job Description

A warm and welcoming British and American family are relocating from Milan to Carate Urio on Lake Como in April 2026 and are seeking a confident, nurturing nanny to care for their baby boy, who will be 1 year old at the start of the role.
This is a shared-care position with a very hands-on mum, so the family are looking for a true team player who enjoys working collaboratively with parents and supporting the family dynamic. The ideal candidate will already be based in Italy and living nearby and will speak native-level English to support the child’s exposure to his mother tongue. Italian is not a requirement. German or French would be considered a bonus, but are not essential.
The successful nanny will have strong early years knowledge and be confident planning and engaging in age-appropriate activities, both indoors and outdoors, to support the child’s development, curiosity and confidence.
A separate cleaner/housekeeper is employed; however, nanny duties will include:
• Preparing healthy, nutritious meals
• Keeping the nursery and the baby’s bedroom tidy and organised
• Managing the baby’s laundry, ensuring items are cleaned and put away appropriately
The family are seeking someone with positive energy, who is kind, patient and nurturing, and who can gently instil good manners and etiquette as their son grows.
Working Hours:
• Tuesday to Saturday, 10:00am – 7:00pm
• 1-hour lunch break daily
• One evening babysitting per week
• Two consecutive days off: Sunday and Monday
Package:
• Salary: €1,000 net per week (the employer is responsible for tax and national insurance contributions within Italy)
• Holiday: 25 calendar days paid holiday per annum
• Travel: One flight home paid per year
This is a fantastic opportunity for a professional nanny seeking a long-term role with a lovely family in a stunning Lake Como location. The ideal candidate will have accommodation already. However, the family may consider a live-in option. You must have the right to live and work within the EU.
Start Date: May 2026
