Have you ever hired or considered hiring a Nanny or Governess to work within your household? If the answer is yes to either, then this should be a very interesting read for you, or perhaps a friend who is considering hiring their first Nanny, Governess or private Tutor.
Nanny, Governess or Tutor?
There are many benefits of hiring a Nanny or Governess to assist you with the upbringing and care of your children. Let’s start with the basics. If you are busy working parent(s) who have wonderful careers that have coincided well with having your delightful children, then a Nanny or Governess could be the answer to everything.

First and foremost it allows you to feel secure and happy knowing that the apples of your eyes are being cared for, nurtured and well educated all at the same time. All whilst you are able to continue to concentrate on enjoying your career and earning an income to support your family, you can be assured that your children are happy too.

For parents who are considering hiring a Nanny or Governess for the first time it can be a daunting procedure, understandably, it’s a big decision and you want to make sure you get it right. Additionally, many parents feel that by having a Nanny that there position with their children, which of course is not the case, although an understandable concern. Providing your child(s) with a Nanny or Governess doesn’t make you any less of a parent, it just means that if you are in a fortunate enough position to ensure that your children are provided with additional care and attention whilst you are unable to be around them.

It’s important to think about the type of person that would fit in well within your family.

Most Nannies/Governesses have ample training and experience with childcare, cooking, safeguarding etc. These qualities alone can assure you that hiring additional childcare is certainly something worth considering, offering your children additional guidance as they develop from babies to toddlers, from toddlers to children and from children on to teenagers.

Your children will have the opportunity to enjoy one to one quality time, whether that be by being creative, doing arts and crafts, acting, singing or writing – Nannies and Governesses have it covered. Nannies tend to spend much of their free time speaking to other Nannies or researching ways to ensure that your children are having the times of their lives, it’s their job after all and they certainly never tire of new ways to entertain and engage the children in new activities that challenge them.

Sporting activities are another great benefit of hiring a Nanny/Governess. I have yet to meet a Nanny who isn’t full of energy, they need it to keep up with your children. Therefore your child(s) have the possibility of someone to play and practice their favourite sports with, or, someone to simply attend their extra curricular activities with.

Children love to be watched at their sports games and as we know in this very busy day and age it isn’t possible as a parent to always be present at such events. But how wonderful to know that your child has somebody to watch them and speak about their feelings after their tennis tournament or dance show, you can just hear it can’t you “Did you see it when I aced my opponent?” “How did you like our dance routine? I told you it was amazing, we’ve been practising for weeks” This level of communication and attention is very important for children and it’s even nicer for them to hear their Nanny/Governess praising their efforts to their parents too.

Your children will also have someone to greet them from school, have meals prepared, assistance with homework or extra lessons prepared by the Nanny or Governess. They may even learn to bake at home and be able to show you their proud efforts on your return from work in an evening, the excitement they feel about showing their parents is immeasurable and the fact that they have adult supervision and someone to guide them through new and exciting experiences is even better.

Play dates are fantastic and Nannies will always manage to find your children other children to play with and help them to develop social skills with other children and they may even take them to children’s playgroup such as ‘Movers and Shakers’ and such like. Where the children are able to sing along with puppets and instruments etc.

Along with all of the above, you are able to be a great parent whilst maintaining your social life with friends, family and your significant other knowing your children are in great care.
