Job Description

A warm and welcoming Swiss family based in Dubai is seeking an experienced, professional, and engaging live-out nanny to care for their two boys aged 4 and 6. This is a long-term opportunity for a kind, flexible, and confident candidate who enjoys working with school-aged children and is looking to become an extended member of a lovely family.
The family also have two older teenage children, a son and a daughter, who require very little care. Both parents work full-time while remaining hands-on and actively involved in family life. The role includes frequent travel to Switzerland and other international destinations, so the successful candidate must be flexible and enjoy travelling. The family would ideally like to employ someone who is already based in Dubai and knows the city well, although candidates who have previously lived and worked in Dubai will also be considered.
During term time, the working day will typically begin at 1:00 pm with school collection. During Ramadan, the children’s school timetable changes and they finish earlier, so the nanny’s working hours will adjust accordingly to accommodate the earlier school pick-up.
The nanny will be responsible for supporting the children’s afternoon routine, planning engaging activities, supervising homework, encouraging positive behaviour, and creating a fun, structured, and nurturing environment. A keen interest in maths would be an advantage, as the children enjoy learning and benefit from educational encouragement alongside their play. No driving or cooking duties are required.
The ideal candidate will be experienced with school-aged children and confident managing the dynamic between two energetic brothers. They should be firm but fair, diplomatic when resolving sibling disagreements, and skilled at positively redirecting behaviour when needed. The family is looking for someone who is kind, open-minded, fun, organised, and adaptable, with a genuine passion for childcare. The boys are fluent English speakers and enjoy animals, maths, sports, trampolining, gymnastics, and collecting Pokémon cards. Although the family do not have pets in Dubai, they own a farm in Switzerland with cats and horses, so applicants should not have any allergies to animals.
The recruitment process will consist of two video interviews followed by a one-week paid trial for the successful candidate. There will also be occasional proxy parenting, approximately twice per year. Rather than additional financial remuneration, any extra hours worked during proxy parenting or while travelling with the family will be compensated with additional paid time off, arranged at the family’s convenience. Working hours and daily routines will also vary when travelling internationally to reflect the family’s schedule.
This is a wonderful opportunity to join a supportive family on a long-term basis. The start date is flexible for the right candidate, ideally during September.
